I\’m a 21-year-old gentleman living with cerebral palsy. I\’m quite shy and take my time getting to know people, but enjoy good company once I feel comfortable.

I attend the ARC (Adult Resource Centre) on Wednesday\’s and am looking for a Personal Assistant to support me getting there and back. I also need some support to go to other activities throughout the week depending on what I feel like doing. The activities that I am hoping to include are learning to swim, going on bus trips to Carlisle and Dumfries and going to play pool. I like gardening and going to the beach on a good day.

The person that I am looking to be my Personal Assistant will need to be patient, kind, flexible, honest, reliable, funny, good communicator and have some experience with adult social care, although this is not essential.

If you are successful you will need to provide evidence of your right to work in the UK.

You will be asked to provide names of two referees.

You will need to be a member of Protecting Vulnerable Group (PVG) scheme. If you are not already a member, I can advise you how to apply.

If you would like to find out more, or for help with applying then please contact Anne at Capability Scotland on 07395794168 quoting reference AMDB0825.
