Personal Assistant to help me be as independent as possible. Hi, I'm Georgina, I am 90 years young and live with my wonderful family 5 miles from Dumfries, so you will need a driving licence as there is not a regular bus service. I enjoy being as independent as possible. I have dementia and can be a little forgetful, which is why I am needing help with my daily living tasks which include washing and dressing, breakfast and medication.
You will be joining a small team of Personal Assistants and I am looking for support on a Wednesday morning for 2 hours around 7.45 am - 9.45 am to assist me into my glad rags to go to my club and one hour in the evening around 7.00 pm - 8.00 pm to help me out of my glad rags and to settle me for the evening. I would also require you to work every second weekend for two hours in the morning and one hour in the evening and if required to cover holidays and sickness.
I am looking for someone who has the following qualities:
- bubbly
- reliable
- honest and trustworthy
- good sense of humour and conversation
- above all patience
I would like you to have at least one year's experience working in Adult Social Care or dementia and some moving and handling training, but if not training can be sourced for the right person. I enjoy being outdoors and with my family and friends.
If you are successful you will need to provide evidence of your right to work in the UK. You will be asked to provide the names of two referees. You will need to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Group (PVG) scheme. If you are not already a member, I can advise you how to apply.
