A 69‑year‑old gentleman with health and mobility issues is seeking a personal assistant to work alongside a small team of assistants. The role involves comprehensive support with daily living tasks, including mobility assistance, meal preparation, medication management and personal care. The personal assistant will also need to fit in with the current team and be reliable, caring and compassionate.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with getting up each morning using a hoist and other mobility aids.
  • Prepare meals and manage medication schedules.
  • Provide personal care as required.
  • Support the current team of personal assistants and cover sickness and holiday absences.
  • Participate in 72‑hour shifts over three days with six days off.
  • Remain available for occasional overnight stays as part of the shift pattern.
  • Help with additional day‑to‑day tasks as needed.

Qualifications

  • Suitable PVG (Police Vetting Guidance) clearance is required.
  • Valid driving licence.
  • Male candidate preferred (personal care preference).
  • Experience with personal care or mobility assistance is a plus but not essential; training will be provided.

Working Hours

Shifts run from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm. The schedule consists of 72‑hour shifts over three consecutive days, followed by six days off.

Compensation

£13.45 per hour, with paid annual leave of 5.6 weeks pro‑rata.

Accommodation

The personal assistant will be provided with a private room for sleeping during shifts.
