We are two sisters in our 40's who have recently moved to Lochmaben with our family and are seeking caring, reliable Personal Assistants/Support Workers to support us through Self-Directed Support (SDS). The role is to provide person-centred support to help us maintain our independence and participation in everyday life.
The required support with everyday living tasks include:
- Cooking healthy meals and baking
- Going to the gym and for walks
- Shopping
- Attending appointments
- Personal Care if required
Our interests include:
- Crafting
- Birdwatching
- Gardening
- Caring for small animals
About You: We are looking for individuals who are:
- Calm, quiet, friendly and patient
- Caring and respectful, with a person-centred approach
- Observant, with an ability to recognise when support is needed and respond appropriately
- Flexible and reliable
- Previous Experience is desirable but not essential as training can be provided
Applicant must:
- Have access to their own transport
- Be non-smokers due to sensory issues
- Be willing to provide holiday and sickness cover when required
Hours of Support: Ideally we are looking to recruit two Personal Assistants to provide support Monday to Friday from 9.30 am. Variable hours between 12 - 24 hours per week available. Exact hours and working arrangements will be discussed further at interview.
Females only need apply as permitted under Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010. If successful you will need to provide evidence of your right to work in the UK. You will be asked to provide the names of two referees. You will need to be a member of Protecting Vulnerable Group (PVG) scheme. If you are not already a member, I can advise you how to apply.
