About Us: We just purchased a restaurant in the Westcliff-on-Sea area, expanding our services to include a traditional British breakfast offering. We seek a skilled and experienced Breakfast Chef to lead this initiative, bringing expertise and creativity to our kitchen.
Key Responsibilities:
- Breakfast Service Management: Develop and execute a traditional British breakfast menu, ensuring high-quality dishes are prepared and presented consistently. Oversee the entire breakfast service, from preparation to delivery, maintaining efficiency and excellence.
- Menu Planning & Ingredient Ordering: Plan menus that reflect traditional British breakfast items, considering seasonal availability and customer preferences. Manage inventory and order ingredients, ensuring freshness and cost-effectiveness. Monitor stock levels to prevent shortages or overstocking.
- Health, Safety & Hygiene: Uphold strict hygiene and cleanliness standards in the kitchen, adhering to all health and safety regulations. Implement and maintain food safety protocols, including proper storage, handling, and preparation of food items. Conduct regular checks to ensure compliance with sanitation standards.
- Allergy Management: Develop and implement procedures to manage and communicate potential allergens in menu items. Train staff to handle allergy-related requests and emergencies appropriately.
- Food Hygiene Inspections: Prepare for and facilitate food hygiene inspections, ensuring the kitchen meets all required standards. Address any issues identified during inspections promptly and effectively.
- Buffet Service Management (Weekends): Plan and execute buffet-style breakfast services on weekends, ensuring a variety of options are available and presented appealingly. Monitor buffet replenishment and maintain food quality throughout service hours.
- Team Management & Coordination: Lead and motivate the kitchen team, fostering a collaborative and efficient working environment. Schedule staff shifts to ensure adequate coverage during breakfast hours. Provide training and development opportunities for team members.
