We are looking for an ambitious and commercially aware Design Manager / Project Manager to support the successful delivery of major healthcare projects within a dynamic and collaborative design studio. This position offers exposure to complex, high value schemes where structured project delivery, stakeholder coordination and commercial performance are critical to success. It is ideally suited to someone with experience in a design, construction, engineering or project delivery environment who is keen to further develop their expertise in project controls, contract administration, commercial management and programme coordination.
Working alongside experienced project leaders and multidisciplinary teams, you will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered efficiently, commercially and in line with client expectations.
About You
- Previous experience within a design, construction, engineering or project led environment.
- Strong interest in commercial and financial aspects of project delivery.
- Knowledge of cost tracking, invoicing, fee management or project financial reporting.
- APM qualification (or equivalent) or currently working towards professional project management accreditation.
- Experience working with NEC contracts is highly desirable, including change management and compensation event processes.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and comfortable using a range of project management and reporting tools.
- Confident communicator with the ability to build effective relationships across multidisciplinary teams.
- Understanding of design delivery processes, construction methodologies or the RIBA Plan of Work would be advantageous.
- Experience within a design-led consultancy environment is beneficial.
- Able to manage competing priorities and work effectively to deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of project programming software such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project would be advantageous.
