Lighting Designer / Senior Lighting Designer (1 year FTC – Maternity Cover)

We’re working with a highly respected, multidisciplinary consultancy renowned for delivering world-class lighting design across a range of sectors, and they’re looking for a talented Lighting Designer or Senior Lighting Designer to join their award-winning team on a maternity cover contract.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work with an established team known for pushing creative and technical boundaries, combining environmental sensitivity with cutting-edge design.

The Role:

You’ll be hands-on across the full design lifecycle, from concept to completion, delivering thoughtful, human-centred, and environmentally conscious lighting schemes. You’ll contribute to both artificial and daylighting projects, as well as support strategic lighting assessments, visualisations, and lighting impact reports.

Expect to be involved in:

• Creative concept development, client presentations, and technical design packages
• Producing drawings, lighting calculations, specifications, and control strategies
• Participating in site-based activities including testing, focusing, and commissioning
• Collaborating across disciplines and attending key design meetings
• Supporting biodiversity and dark sky initiatives through lighting strategy

We’re looking for someone with:

• A background in lighting design (creative or technical) and relevant industry experience
• Proficiency in design tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, Photoshop, InDesign, and ideally Rhino 3D
• A keen eye for detail and a genuine passion for lighting and visual environments
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work both independently and in a team
• A flexible and confident approach, able to hit the ground running
