A well-established, family-owned engineering business based in Birmingham is seeking an experienced Engineering Sales Manager to support continued growth. This is a key, hands-on role responsible for developing new business, managing and growing key accounts, and leading the internal sales team. The successful candidate will be commercially driven, technically credible, and confident building long-term relationships within engineering and manufacturing environments.

The Role

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities
  • Manage, grow, and retain key customer accounts
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the internal sales team
  • Hold credible technical conversations with procurement teams and engineering stakeholders
  • Manage long sales cycles and negotiate commercial agreements

About You

  • Proven experience in engineering sales
  • Previous experience managing or leading a sales team
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills
  • Good knowledge of CNC machining, including single- and multi-spindle production runs
  • Experience working with long sales cycles in engineering environments
  • Commercially focused, self-motivated, and results driven
  • Comfortable working independently and travelling when required
