Canvas Offices builds workplaces people genuinely want to be in. As we grow, so does the complexity of running our team well — and that's where you come in. This is a generalist role for someone energised by variety. You'll act as the operational backbone for the People function, spanning HR admin, onboarding and offboarding, culture, recruitment coordination, AI-enabled process improvement and office management. It's a role with genuine breadth and room to grow.
What you'll do
- People ops & HR admin
- Own the employee lifecycle end-to-end — contracts, right-to-work, probation tracking, leaver processing and everything in between
- Deliver a consistent, well-managed onboarding and offboarding experience for every starter and leaver — Support payroll, benefits administration (NEST, Vestd) and absence tracking
- Maintain clean, accurate records across HiBob
- Culture & employee experience
- Continuously look for ways to improve the employee experience across the full lifecycle
- Coordinate team events, socials and all-hands — managing logistics from venue to format
- Support engagement initiatives and flag themes to the Head of People
- Recruitment coordination
- Own the recruitment process on TeamTailor — posting roles, managing pipelines and scheduling interviews
- Be the first point of contact for candidates, reflecting Canvas's brand and warmth throughout
- Technology & AI
- Own the relationship with our third-party IT provider, ensuring seamless IT setup for starters and clean offboarding for leavers
- Support the adoption of AI tools across the People function and identify opportunities to automate repetitive tasks
- Help evaluate and embed new tools and integrations, documenting processes as they evolve
- Office management
- Oversee the day-to-day running of 175 High Holborn — facilities, supplies, vendors and H&S compliance
- Act as a visible, welcoming presence in the office, setting the tone for how the space feels
What we're looking for
- Experience in People role(s) or office management — or a strong generalist background across both
- Confident using HRIS platforms and ATS tools (HiBob and TeamTailor experience a plus)
- Genuinely curious about technology and AI, with a willingness to build capability in this area
- Highly organised, discreet and able to manage competing priorities without dropping the detail
- Warm, proactive and someone who takes ownership
What we offer
- Real ownership across a varied, high-impact remit.
- A close-knit team that moves fast and values contribution over hierarchy.
- A beautifully designed workspace in central London.
- Competitive salary, benefits and room to grow as Canvas scales.
