Are you a resource management pro with great people skills and a talent for logical thinking? We’re looking for a Resource Manager to join our dynamic team. This is a 1-year maternity cover position and will be part-time. As the Resource Manager, you will be at the forefront of building optimal teams and supporting team productivity. Your role involves strategically allocating resources, collaborating closely with project managers, and spearheading initiatives to enhance our resource management processes. About the role:
- You will help embed vital resource management processes and ensure we are optimally resourced for all upcoming internal and external projects.
- You will collaborate closely with project managers, department heads, and other stakeholders to facilitate the smooth flow of work, plan and forecast opportunities for growth, and support key decisions that contribute to the overall success of our projects.
- Being the central organiser of project teams within the business, with up-to-date knowledge of our staff’s development goals and the skills needed to deliver against the briefs/projects.
- Managing and overseeing the development of our Resourcing Executive.
- Ensuring that we are proactively resourced for all upcoming internal and external projects by tracking resource requirements and assigning project teams accordingly.
- Liaising with the Head of Insight to offer visibility on upcoming resource capacity.
- Overseeing the management and allocation of a network of freelancers, external resources, and suppliers to support our resourcing needs.
- Managing our resource management platform and training project leads on resource management processes.
- Liaising with project teams to resolve ad-hoc resource challenges.
About you:
- You’re a seasoned professional with a wealth of experience in resource management, ideally in dynamic environments like creative, research or consulting industries.
- Your proven track record sets you apart, showcasing your ability to navigate challenges with a pragmatic mindset.
- You’ll showcase excellent decision-making skills, making informed choices in high-pressure situations using a logical approach.
- Your exceptional organisational skills are crucial, while leveraging strong attention to detail and competency with Excel sheets in order to manage the needs of multiple projects effectively, ensure optimal resource allocation aligned with project deadlines and analyse capacity data to improve future planning.
- Communication is a core strength, with excellent interpersonal skills that foster collaboration among project managers, department heads, and team members.
- Your collaborative approach not only resolves challenges but also contributes significantly to creating a positive and efficient work environment.
- 3+ years of experience in a similar role is preferable – proven experience in resource management, ideally within a creative or consulting environment.
- Experience managing resources for multi-discipline teams.
- Strong organisational and multitasking skills with the ability to prioritise effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with resource management tools and software.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and deadlines.
- Experience in managing and providing support to junior teams.
- Proactive and self-motivated.
- Background in research is desirable.
Competitive salary dependent on experience. Part-time role: 3-4 days per week. Hybrid working with flexible start times. 29 days paid holiday (including bank holidays).
