Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for building long-term partnerships? We’re looking for an exceptional Senior Client Manager to join our close-knit London team for a 12-month maternity cover position. This role is a rare opportunity to lead high-level strategy for world-class brands on a flexible, part-time basis. If you enjoy nurturing senior client relationships, finding solutions and managing enterprise accounts, this is the opportunity for you.

As a Senior Client Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in identifying and nurturing opportunities, driving expansion within existing accounts, and forging new connections. Your keen interest in human behavior, trends, and insights will fuel your passion for understanding consumer motivations and guiding strategic decisions. Join us for this exciting opportunity, where your skills and passion can make a real impact on our clients and our business.

About us: We are Canvas8, a strategic insights practice with offices in London, NYC, LA, Singapore and Manila. We help our clients understand people so they can make better business decisions. Our work investigates the hidden insights in everyday life – from the psychology behind the rise of absurdism in media, and teenagers’ obsession with romantasy and fan fiction, to why AI companions are becoming Gen Z’s go-to besties – and makes them meaningful for brands. Our team is a blend of disciplines and skills, from psychology to journalism and anthropology to behavioural economics. What unites us is a desire to understand people and a passion for delivering outstanding work.

About the role: As a key member of our Client Management team, you’ll oversee an incredible portfolio of global and regional clients across media agencies and major brands within the EMEA territory. Your primary role will involve nurturing and growing our existing client base while ensuring they are getting maximum benefit from their Canvas8 Membership. Whether onboarding new clients or re-engaging existing ones, you’ll be instrumental in streamlining our service. To ensure your client portfolio is fully engaged, you’ll deliver key insights and opportunities that demonstrate an understanding of their unique business needs. As you build long-term relationships with your clients, you’ll strive to ensure that Canvas8 is their go-to partner for consumer insights. You’ll act as their strategic advisor by curating behavioural trends from the Library and delivering them in new and engaging ways, from trend briefings to webinar workshops. You’ll also be responsible for servicing your client accounts, leading Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), renewing memberships, and identifying opportunities to engage clients with our toolkit products and bespoke consultancy services.

It’s a super varied role, balancing commercial and creative goals. Whether you’re onboarding a new client, devising the best methodology for a client pitch, or negotiating the expansion of an existing contract, no two days are the same.

  • Nurturing and growing a portfolio of key existing accounts in the EMEA region and at the Global Enterprise level
  • Identifying and developing upsell (account growth) and cross-sell (bespoke research and consultancy) opportunities within your portfolio
  • Managing client relationships and providing on-demand support for strategic briefs and pitches
  • Increasing client engagement through proactive communications, delivering engaging presentations, leading onboarding and training sessions, and managing client events
  • Increase/maintain high engagement across our Library (usage and users) among your client base and monitor potential areas for improvement
  • Presenting our services to clients, including growth products and additional licenses
  • Elevating relationships from tactical to strategic

About you: You’ll be commercially minded and have an aptitude for working toward targets and devising creative ways to exceed them. With five to six years of experience in account/client management for a subscription-based product, and a proven track record of client success, you’ll bring a strategic mindset to the table. Your experience means you’ll be able to distill client briefs and translate big ideas into understandable, actionable insights. As a natural people person, you’ll have strong communication skills and enjoy building lasting relationships with your clients. Communication is central to our work, and being a good listener with the ability to read between the lines is integral. You’ll be confident and articulate and won’t shy away from giving a great presentation. In addition to your people skills, you’ll have a naturally curious mind, always looking to understand what makes people tick – from why Gen Y is eating so many avocados to how an aging brand can reconnect with its younger audience. You’ll love what you do and be excited to use this knowledge to curate the right insights to support our clients’ strategic thinking. Finally, you’ll have an excellent eye for detail, strong organisational skills, and a belief that streamlined processes lead to success.

  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills with a flair for writing
  • Excellent organization, project, and time management, as well as CRM mastery
