About us: We are Canvas8, a strategic insights practice operating out of London, NY, LA, Singapore & Manila. We help our clients understand people so they can make better business decisions. Our work is about investigating the hidden insights in everyday life – from the psychology of boredom to teenage make‑up rituals to why Barbiecore is a Gen Y thing – and making them meaningful for brands. Our team is a blend of different disciplines and skills – from psychology to journalism, and anthropology to behavioural economics. What unites them is a desire to understand people and a passion for delivering outstanding work.
About the role: As a Business Development Manager, you’ll be part of a growing enterprise team selling into leading agencies and B2C brands across industries. Your focus will be on securing new and scalable business opportunities through a consultative‑selling approach and proposing strategic solutions that focus on the issues crucial to the client’s future and performance. Your responsibilities will cover the entire end‑to‑end sales cycle, from prospecting and discovery to proposal writing and closing deals. Joining the EMEA business during a period of global growth, you’ll have the chance to thrive in a dynamic, fast‑paced, and entrepreneurial environment, from which there are opportunities to build, grow and develop at an unrivalled pace.
The day‑to‑day:

- Writing proposals, negotiating contracts and closing deals
- Building and maintaining relationships with prospective clients
- Work in close conjunction with adjacent functions such as Consultancy, Membership, Analyst and Product teams to exchange knowledge, improve and build new solutions
- Meet quarterly and annual sales targets by converting inbound leads and generating new opportunities in defined verticals
About you: As an industry leader in human behaviour and culture, we haven’t come this far without entrepreneurial spirit and a get‑up‑and‑go attitude. So if you think we’ll see that in you, then you’re already halfway there. Joining our close‑knitted, strategically minded sales team, you’ll be fully immersed from the start and develop your own profile among communications agencies, media owners and brands. Motivated and engaged, you’ll build a smart, product‑agnostic and consultative approach to sales. Articulate and confident, whilst building relationships with prospects by understanding their challenges and offering solutions both face‑to‑face and remotely. As a quick learner, we offer full autonomy and continued support in identifying new opportunities for growth.
