We are seeking a Label Manager (part-time) to join our team in London. The role will be responsible for helping with many of the day‐to‐day operations at Canvas Music, with a focus on client relations and ensuring the successful delivery, distribution and promotion of our roster's music. This role involves managing relationships with artists, labels, our partners and other stakeholders, helping with DSP pitching, developing marketing strategies, handling the company's social media channels, and coordinating with various teams to help drive the company's continued growth. Responsibilities
- Support the day‐to‐day operations of label releases, ensuring successful execution from inception to delivery.
- Manage release campaigns, including scheduling, planning, and coordination with internal teams, external partners, and third‐party agencies.
- Serve as the key point of contact on behalf of the company, maintaining positive and productive relationships with labels, artists, management and industry contacts.
- Pitching to DSPs including acting as liaison with label and artist relations teams at DSPs, optimising potential for each release and identifying playlisting and other marketing opportunities.
- Oversee social media channels and maintain website content.
- Work with artists and artist managers in the collection of deliverables, assets, and in the development of schedules, targets, budgets and creative campaigns.
- Provide advice and assistance on all aspects of music distribution to ensure successful releases such as catalog ingestions, clearing claims, and managing rights conflicts.
Requirements
- 4+ years experience within a distribution, label, management, or music company working directly with labels, managers and artists.
- Exceptional customer service skills with ability to monitor and develop productive relationships.
- Understanding of digital distribution, including digital marketing and social media.
- Industry network and relationships in the independent music industry and/or digital platforms.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Ability to maintain multiple project timelines with close attention to detail while being accountable and responsive.
- Problem solver, calm under pressure, highly organised.
- An eye for culture, an ear for trends and someone who loves live music.
