We're on the lookout for proactive, highly-sociable person to become the first point of contact for our corporate clients as our Junior Venue Account Executive. You'll build relationships with the corporate clients who use Canvas, learn the ropes from our lead concierge, and help grow our new Manchester market, in a fast-growing company reshaping how people find event venues.
The Role
Reporting to our Head of Growth and working with our lead concierge, your day-to-day will be speaking to corporate clients over the phone who enquire through Canvas but don't yet work with our team. You'll introduce Canvas, get to know how they run their events and who makes the decisions, and help them book, spotting the bigger opportunities to pass to our Concierge service along the way.
On the venue side, you'll keep an eye on where things are slipping and feed that back to our Head of Customer Success. Where clients need a hand following up with venues they've enquired with, you'll help progress the enquiry.
You'll also actively promote our rewards programme and be an active ambassador for it, encouraging repeat bookers and helping us generate more reviews and more repeat clients.
With new clients enquiring through Canvas every day, you'll play a vital role in building relationships with them and helping grow and nurture these contacts into regular bookers on the platform.
In return there are excellent growth prospects for you here. As you learn our Concierge approach, you'll start handling venue-finding briefs of your own and take a lead role in growing our Manchester business, with a path towards bigger briefs and higher-value events, playing an essential role in bringing in commission to help the business grow.
This is a great opportunity for you to enter the world of events and work with some fantastic clients alongside a small but passionate team with big ambitions to make Canvas the go-to platform for event planners.
Tasks in Detail
- Call corporate clients enquiring through Canvas, introduce our service, and find out how they run events: how many they do, how they source venues and what gets in the way.
- Map how each client organisation works and connect with the people behind venue decisions (often EAs, PAs and event leads), booking meetings where relevant.
- Follow every enquiry through to a final outcome: checking in on decisions, helping clients follow up with venues they've enquired with, and keeping the booking process moving.
- Spot clients with bigger or upcoming event needs and set up introductions to our Concierge.
- Spot venues where things are slipping (slow response times, not requesting contacts, and similar) and feed this back to our Head of Customer Success.
- Log calls and client activity in HubSpot, keeping a clear picture of every client relationship.
- Actively promote our rewards programme and act as its ambassador, encouraging repeat bookers and helping generate more reviews and more repeat clients.
- Attend networking events, exhibitions and PA/EA groups, representing Canvas.
- Help grow our Manchester client base and turn a growing enquiry pipeline into bookings.
- Over time, learn our Concierge approach and handle smaller venue-finding briefs of your own.
- Report on your pipeline and highlight venues not meeting our enquiry engagement guidelines to the wider team.
More About You
- Excellent communication skills, on the phone and in writing: you'll be a key point of contact for our clients and venues.
- Organised and detail-oriented, comfortable managing a high volume of client conversations at once.
- Some experience in sales, account management, hospitality or events preferred: we'll get you fully up to speed on our venue portfolio and the London and Manchester venue landscape.
- Systems-minded: confident working in a CRM, ideally HubSpot, and keeping records accurate and up to date.
- Commercially minded and motivated by hitting targets.
- Happy to travel: you'll attend events and work across co-working spaces in Central London (all within Zone 1).
- Knowledge of the London and Manchester events and venue scene is a big plus, but not essential.
We're looking for a proactive self-starter who loves talking to people and getting things done. You'll be at the heart of our client relationships, getting to know the people behind every enquiry and helping clients come back to Canvas again and again.

You’ll be joining a small, passionate team with a startup mentality and a strong sense of purpose. We care about helping venues succeed, and we're deeply invested in building meaningful, long-term relationships that go far beyond transactions.
