The Studio
This award-winning architecture and interior design studio is known for creating thoughtful, characterful spaces across residential, hospitality and community projects. Its work brings together architecture and interiors, with a strong focus on materiality, craftsmanship and timeless design. Projects range from high-end private homes and listed properties to new-build schemes and sensitive refurbishments within conservation areas. Every project is approached individually, with no fixed house style – instead, the studio takes a refined and collaborative approach that balances creativity with practical, technical and budgetary considerations. The close-knit team fosters a calm, design-led studio culture, making this an excellent environment for architects who value detail, materiality and considered design.
The Opportunity
The studio is looking for a Project Architect to join its London team, taking a leading role in the design and delivery of projects across the practice. You will work across all RIBA stages, providing architectural design direction while taking responsibility for the successful delivery of the project brief, scope, budget and programme. Depending on the project, you may act as Project Lead or Design Lead and serve as the principal point of contact for clients, consultants, project managers, contractors, fabricators and specialist suppliers.
The role will involve developing projects from feasibility and strategic definition through concept design, planning and statutory approvals, detailed design, tender and construction. You will coordinate technical and construction drawing packages, review construction information, submittals, mock-ups and samples, and maintain oversight of design quality through regular site visits and project close-out. Working closely with the studio's Interiors and FF&E teams, you will ensure the architectural and interior design intent is considered holistically throughout the project. You will lead and participate in client presentations, consultant coordination, project workshops and site meetings, resolving design and technical issues while ensuring information is clearly communicated across the wider project team.
Beyond individual projects, you will contribute to the wider development of the studio, including design standards, new business pitches and client relationships, while providing leadership and mentorship to Part II assistants and junior members of the architectural team.
