About The Role
As Canva’s SMBs Community Manager in the UK, you will design and deliver strategies that connect small business owners, entrepreneurs, and solopreneurs with Canva-helping them discover the value of our platform, engage deeply with our community, and become passionate advocates for our brand, product and mission.
What You’ll Do
- Community Program Management: Lead the growth and engagement of Canva’s UK SMBs community, scaling peer-to-peer advocacy through Canvassadors, local events, and online activations.
- Events & Experiences: Organize and facilitate impactful in-person and virtual events—including workshops, networking sessions, and flagship gatherings at our London event space to showcase Canva’s value for SMBs and drive adoption.
- Content & Engagement Strategy: Develop and deliver SMB-focused content—case studies, toolkits, webinars, and success stories—that inspire entrepreneurs and highlight Canva’s impact on small business growth.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Growth Marketing, SEO, Content, and Partnerships teams to design and execute integrated campaigns that convert community advocacy into MAUs and ARR growth.
- Expand the Canvassador Programme: Recruit, onboard, and empower SMB Canvassadors to act as brand ambassadors—hosting activations, creating content, and fueling grassroots visibility across the UK.
- Partnership Development: Build and nurture relationships with SMB networks, accelerators, financial institutions, and government programmes to increase Canva’s credibility and reach in the ecosystem.
- User Growth & Awareness: Drive MAU growth and paid conversion through data-driven initiatives, ambassador referrals, and partnership activations—tying community activity directly to ARR impact.
- Market Insights & Storytelling: Act as the local expert on UK SMB trends, capturing user stories, feedback, and advocacy moments to inform growth strategies and amplify Canva’s brand narrative.
What We\’re Looking For
- 5+ years of experience growing and engaging SMB audiences, with a proven track record of driving adoption, retention, and revenue impact through community‑led strategies.
- Deep understanding of the UK small business and solopreneur landscape—its challenges, ecosystems, and opportunities—paired with experience working in a global organisation.
- Proven ability to design and scale ambassador programmes, peer‑led advocacy, and grassroots campaigns that transform SMB users into passionate brand champions.
- Skilled at creating and managing partnerships with SMB networks, accelerators, financial institutions, and government programmes to expand Canva’s reach and credibility.
- Strong experience facilitating impactful activations—workshops, networking sessions, and flagship in‑office events—that foster SMB community trust and convert participation into MAU and ARR growth.
- Ability to craft compelling SMB‑focused content—case studies, toolkits, webinars—that inspire entrepreneurs and highlight Canva’s role in business growth.
- Analytical skills to track community KPIs (MAUs, referrals, ARR contribution), translate insights into action, and connect community engagement directly to business growth.
- Comfortable working with Growth Marketing, SEO, Content, Product, and Partnerships teams to design integrated campaigns that scale SMB user growth.
- Confident public speaker with experience in facilitating webinars and workshops.
- Creative thinker with content creation experience, including video editing, and a deep understanding of social platforms and trends.
- Excellent cross‑functional collaboration, working effectively with sales, growth, and social teams, and managing stakeholder relationships.
- Self‑starter with strong execution and delivery skills, thriving in fast‑paced environments with evolving priorities.
- Proficient in balancing long‑term strategy with short‑term needs, adapting quickly to market trends, while focusing on data‑driven marketing.
- Build and maintain strong internal relationships within Canva to support collaboration and align with company goals.
- Developing and maintaining relationships with partners as well as collaborating with government organizations and agencies.
- Skilled with community management tools (Facebook Groups, Discord, etc).
- Skilled in tools like Monday.com, Google Suite, MailChimp, Hubspot and Looker.
- Event planning and coordination for both online and offline events.
