Who are we? Since medical cannabis was legalised in the UK in 2018, Cantourage UK has been building the infrastructure that makes this industry work - safely, compliantly and at scale. We operate across two deeply interconnected worlds: a regulated tele-health clinic, delivering high-quality patient care and a licensed pharmaceutical supply operation, powering the wider ecosystem. Together, they form a complex, high-trust system where clinical integrity, operational excellence and smart technology must work in lockstep. With a strong foundation in place and serious scale-up ambitions ahead, we’re now building the operational backbone to match. The Supply Chain Manager sits at the heart of that build.
What’s the purpose of the role? We’ve built a supply chain that works. Now we need to make it exceptional. As our Supply Chain Manager, you’ll take full ownership of the end-to-end supply chain function within our Pharmaceutical Operations Unit — evolving our processes, systems and rhythms to carry us confidently through our next phase of scale. You’ll be the architect of how we plan, procure and deliver. Reporting to the Head of Pharmaceutical Operations, you’ll work closely with Finance on our S&OP process, create clean operational boundaries, and lead a high-performing remote procurement team. This is not a maintenance role. It’s a builder role. In short: if you’re energised by creating structure where there isn’t any, solving genuinely novel supply chain puzzles, and leaving a clear fingerprint on a business in serious pursuit of market impact — this role is for you.
What impact will you have?
- S&OP Ownership & Planning Excellence: Play a leading role in strengthening and evolving the S&OP process — working closely with Finance to maintain a reliable planning rhythm across procurement, operations and commercial. Ensure demand signals are consistently aligned to supply-side realities — stock positions, procurement lead times and sourcing constraints — so the business is always planning from an accurate foundation. Continuously refine the process as we scale, ensuring it keeps pace with growing complexity and commercial ambition.
- Supply Chain Ownership & Operational Clarity: Create clean, documented ownership of the supply chain function — separating responsibilities from the Orders team to reduce operational risk, improve efficiency and build long-term capability. Perform a comprehensive gap analysis of existing supply routes, covering documentation, performance metrics and process mechanisms, to drive subsequent improvements. Build out clear KPIs, reporting cadences and senior-level visibility across the supply chain.
- Regulated Import Pathway Management: Own and manage regulated import pathways, ensuring end-to-end compliance across documentation, licensing and supply chain execution. Work closely with the MHRA and Home Office as a key operational contact, managing ongoing regulatory obligations and maintaining strong, trusted relationships. Collaborate with international supply partners to ensure cross-border flows remain compliant, resilient and commercially viable. Play an active role in scoping and launching new import routes — assessing regulatory feasibility, coordinating with partners and internal stakeholders, and seeing them through to operational readiness.
- Automation & Systems Innovation: Identify and implement automation opportunities to increase productivity, reduce manual effort and accelerate decision-making across supply chain workflows. Evaluate best-in-class tools and platforms — always asking: what would genuinely empower this team and this business to make smarter, faster decisions? Embed technology-first thinking into how the supply chain function is built and operated.
- People Leadership: Lead, develop and structure a remote procurement team, setting clear expectations, robust ways of working and a culture of accountability. Build a function where ownership and quality standards sit with the team, not just the manager.
What will you bring to the table?
- Proven track record managing complex, regulated supply chains — ideally in controlled drugs or pharmaceutical-grade environments (with equivalent experience from aviation, high-compliance manufacturing or forensic/laboratory logistics equally considered). GDP and/or GMP familiarity strongly preferred; equivalent regulated-environment depth will be considered.
- Demonstrable experience managing regulated import pathways — including cross-border supply routing, MHRA and/or Home Office engagement, and working with international supply partners.
- S&OP involvement at a meaningful level — you’ve shaped and improved established processes, and know what good looks like.
- Cross-functional stakeholder management — across Quality, Finance, Pharmaceutical Operations and commercial teams.
- Workflow automation experience — you know how to use technology to drive productivity and build scalable, low-friction processes.
- People management experience — you’ve led remote teams with clarity, accountability and genuine investment in their development.
- A startup-to-scaleup mindset — comfortable with ambiguity, happy to roll your sleeves up, and far more energised by building than by maintaining.
If you have the following, it’ll be a huge bonus:
- Direct experience with controlled drugs supply chains — Schedule 1/2, unlicensed specials or CBPM is a serious differentiator.
- CIPS qualification (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply).
- Experience evaluating and deploying supply chain management systems or data platforms to support executive decision-making.
- Background in industries where supply chain failure carries genuine consequence — aviation, defence logistics or complex clinical trial supply chains.
Who wouldn’t thrive in this role?
- Someone who needs a fully built machine to operate — we’re evolving ours, and you’ll be a key part of that.
- Those who prefer to work in isolation — this role is deeply cross-functional and demands strong, consistent stakeholder engagement.
- Anyone who finds pace uncomfortable — we move fast, and execution has to keep up.
- Those who see process documentation as someone else’s job — here, it’s a core part of yours.
- Someone whose answer to complexity is to wait for direction — we need instinct, initiative and ownership from day one.
What do we offer?
- 36 day annual leave (includes your birthday + all UK public holidays).
- Performance based annual bonus.
- Comprehensive private medical insurance.
- ClassPass membership (gyms, fitness classes, yoga, massages & more).
- Cycle-to-work scheme.
