Who are we?
Since cannabis was legalised for medical use in the UK back in 2018, Cantourage UK has been as the forefront of building an ecosystem to service patients and businesses across this rapidly-growing space. In doing so, we have secured a variety of pharmaceutical licenses for import/wholesale/export activities (regulated by the Home Office and MHRA) as well as a tele-health clinic license (regulated by the CQC).
Zooming out, we are part of the Cantourage Group SE (a publicly listed European medical cannabis operator with infrastructure spanning Germany, the UK and multiple EU markets) with dreams to become the leading pan-European operator in the medical cannabis industry.
If our clinic is the heart, our pharmaceutical operations is the brain. It powers the entire engine and makes the medical cannabis industry a reality.
With a solid foundation in both clinical care and wholesale supply, Cantourage UK is very much ready to shape the future of medical cannabis within the UK.
What’s the purpose of the role?
You will build the finance function that takes Cantourage UK from founder-led, entrepreneurial execution to structured, scalable, group-ready financial leadership.
This is a hands‑on Head of Finance role with real ownership. You will design the systems, controls and processes that underpin growth, while acting as a strategic partner to the UK CEO and a key interface with Group Finance in Germany.
You’ll sit at the centre of commercial decision‑making, regulatory readiness and operational execution; translating contracts, supply agreements and clinical activity into reliable financial insight.

Turn Finance into a Growth Enabler
- Take finance from founder‑led intuition to decision‑grade clarity
- Make numbers trusted, timely and commercially meaningful across the UK leadership team
- Ensure finance is pulled into decisions early
Show Commercial Acumen Within the Finance Team
- Bring order to contracts, pricing and commercial terms; no hidden risk or margin blind spots
- Translate supply agreements, rebates and clinical activity into real revenue, margin and cash visibility
- Build confidence that what we sell, prescribe and agree actually shows up correctly in the numbers
Build a Finance Engine That Can Scale
- Be an integral part of the UK’s ERP implementation from the business side; designing processes that actually work
- Replace spreadsheets and workarounds with systems that scale under regulatory and audit pressure
- Create a finance setup that can handle growth, complexity and scrutiny without slowing the business down
Make the UK Audit and Group‑Ready
- Establish governance, controls and documentation that stand up to audit and regulatory review
- Align UK reporting cleanly into Group Finance without losing local nuance
- Increase frictionless workflows between the UK and Group by being the bridge, not the bottleneck
Give the Exec Team Real Decision Power
- Build FP&A capability that supports scenario modelling, risk planning and strategic trade‑offs
- Surface risks early – regulatory, supply, cash, margin – with clear options, not just problems
- Help leadership move faster because the financial picture is finally clear
Build the Team and the Standard
- Set the tone for how finance operates: accountable, commercial, pragmatic and disciplined
- Build a lean, high‑quality team that owns its numbers and documents its decisions
- Create a finance function that doesn’t depend on heroics to function
What will you bring to the table?
- Senior‑level finance leadership experience in a growing, complex business with proven experience of building a sustainably high‑performing function
- Strong grounding in operational finance, controls and governance
- Experience translating commercial agreements into financial reality
- Hands‑on experience implementing finance systems (ERP and FP&A)
- Confidence operating across borders, entities and regulatory frameworks
- Ability to partner credibly with CEOs, commercial leaders and Group Finance
Extra credit if you have…
- Experience in regulated industries (pharma, healthcare, life sciences, medical devices)
- Exposure to audit‑ready environments or listed‑group reporting
- Built finance functions in scale‑ups transitioning to group scrutiny
- Worked across UK–EU entities
