We are seeking a Settlements Clerk to join our dynamic team and support the pre and post-trade processing of Fixed Income Bonds and Equities.
As an integral member of the Settlements department, you will play a crucial role in the day-to-day operations, ensuring efficient trade settlements and effective communication with counterparties and brokers.
Your responsibilities will include timely settlement of asset classes, resolving trade mismatches, and maintaining strong relationships with custodians to address any issues.
Responsibilities
- Ensure timely settlement of all asset classes across various markets, maintaining high standards of accuracy and efficiency.
- Liaise with counterparties and brokers to resolve unconfirmed or unsettled trades, and escalate complex issues to the management team as needed.
- Collaborate with custodians to address and escalate any settlement-related concerns, maintaining open lines of communication.
- Perform daily reconciliations and ensure all tasks are completed, contributing to the smooth operation of the Settlements department.
- Maintain a high level of organization and time management, ensuring all tasks are prioritized and completed within set deadlines.
- Develop strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and collaborate with team members, counterparties, and brokers.
- Demonstrate a client-centric mindset, ensuring all interactions and communications are professional and focused on meeting client needs.
- Work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously, adapting to changing priorities and deadlines.

Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of settlements experience, preferably in a financial institution or similar environment.
- In-depth knowledge of Equity and/or Fixed Income products and processes, including trade lifecycle and settlement procedures.
- Proficiency in Outlook and Excel, with strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, contributing to a collaborative and supportive work environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving settlement-related issues.
- Adaptability and flexibility to handle changing priorities and work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
