To sit within the Middle Management Team, you will be responsible for overseeing a team of Project Managers, Project Engineers and Contractors. You will oversee multiple projects within the organisation and ensure that they align with our business goals, stay within budget and meet deadlines. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with the ability to lead and manage people and projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Overall accountability for the project programme, cost and quality and leading the project team to meet project objectives.
  • Identifying potential business development with existing clients and taking an active or lead role in the proposals process.
  • Setting project objectives and ensuring alignment with company strategies.
  • Assist in implementing design performance management systems by tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) and ensuring project milestones are met.
  • Guiding and motivating Project Managers and Project Engineers ensuring cross company collaboration ensuring teams are working efficiently and effectively.
  • Monitoring financials alongside the Finance Business Partner to keep projects within scope and budget.
  • Identifying potential issues and implementing solutions.
  • Navigating unexpected challenges and adjusting strategies when required.
  • Working closely with the Compliance team to establish a project health and safety culture and lead with a health and safety mindset.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • 5+ years experience working in a SNR Project Manager role or similar.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, environmental sciences, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities, with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Strong technical knowledge of wastewater treatment processes, regulations, and best practices.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Previous experience in both design and management of wastewater related projects.
  • Mentoring of less experienced Project Managers and Project Engineers.
  • Proven leadership abilities, with a track record of successfully managing multidisciplinary teams.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • IOSH, SMSTS, Management or Leadership Qualification/Training, CDM Awareness Training, NEC Awareness Training, PRINCE2.
