To sit within the Middle Management Team, you will be responsible for overseeing a team of Project Managers, Project Engineers, and Contractors. You will oversee multiple projects within the organisation and ensure that they align with our business goals, stay within budget, and meet deadlines. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with the ability to lead and manage people and projects.

Responsibilities:

1. Accountability: Overall responsibility for the project programme, cost, and quality, leading the project team to meet project objectives.
2. Business Development: Identifying potential business opportunities with existing clients and leading or actively participating in proposal processes.
3. Strategic Planning: Setting project objectives and ensuring they align with company strategies.
4. Performance Monitoring: Implementing design performance management systems by tracking KPIs and ensuring project milestones are achieved.
5. Leadership and Team Management: Guiding and motivating Project Managers and Engineers, fostering cross-company collaboration, and working with external supply chains to drive contractor performance.
6. Budget Oversight: Monitoring financials with the Finance Business Partner to keep projects within scope and budget.
7. Risk Management: Identifying potential issues and implementing effective solutions.
8. Problem Solving and Adaptability: Navigating unexpected challenges and adjusting strategies accordingly.
9. Health and Safety: Collaborating with the Compliance team to establish a safety culture and lead with a health and safety mindset.

Skills and Qualifications:

• 5+ years experience in a senior Project Manager role or similar.
• Bachelor\’s degree in engineering, environmental sciences, or related field; an advanced degree is preferred.
• Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with a focus on continuous improvement.
• Deep technical knowledge of wastewater treatment processes, regulations, and best practices.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Experience in both design and management of wastewater projects.
• Mentoring experience for less experienced Project Managers and Engineers.
• Proven leadership skills with a successful track record managing multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
• Relevant certifications such as IOSH, SMSTS, CDM Awareness, NEC Awareness, PRINCE2, and management or leadership training.
