Responsibilities:
- Provide day shift security services and support across Canterbury and the wider Campus Network.
- Monitor and respond to incidents using access control, CCTV, and fire alarm systems.
- Maintain a clean, safe and secure environment for students, staff and guests.
- Represent the front‑facing service of the University with the highest personal professional standards.
- Assess situations and respond efficiently, coherently and effectively in difficult or stressful circumstances.
- Occasionally travel to other sites and drive to all locations with a clean manual driving licence.
- Work a 4‑day on / 4‑day off shift pattern, 06:00 to 18:00 hours.
Qualifications:
- Experience in security or a related customer‑service based area.
- Strong customer‑focused skills and effective written and verbal communication.
- Motivated, target‑driven, and keen to learn and develop new or existing professional skills.
- Ability to handle difficult and stressful circumstances.
- Experience with access control, CCTV, and fire alarm systems is an advantage.
- Current SIA DS licence is preferred.
- Clean manual driving licence.
