The predicted salary is between 55000 - 65000 £ per year.

Lead the delivery and quality assurance of clinical teaching in surgery across year five of the school's undergraduate medicine programme. The post-holder ensures equivalent learning across all clinical placements, works with colleagues across years to keep surgical content accurate, and participates in teaching to meet primary medical qualification requirements.

Deliver and contribute to the design of high-quality, demand-driven, student-centred taught programmes as a member of the teaching team. Collaborate with placement providers to ensure consistency in the quality of Year 5 placement delivery across all acute trust hospitals and delegated providers. Participate in placement quality assurance activities such as visits to acute trust hospital sites and evaluation of student and provider feedback and assessment data.

Undertake additional leadership roles within the School as determined by the line manager and contribute to the School’s citizenship responsibilities, including committee membership, staff development, and institutional strategic priorities.

Qualifications

  • Primary medical qualification and full registration with the GMC, plus a current licence to practise.
  • Current clinical practice within the NHS and commitment to remain in clinical practice for the duration of the KMMS contract.
  • Fellowship/Membership of an appropriate Royal College.
  • Current entry on the Specialist Register or another statutory register required to practice, with a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or equivalent.
