Overview

HR Advisor role with Cantello Tayler Recruitment for a client based in Egham, Berkshire. This hybrid position offers onsite parking and requires a full-service HR function with independent operational support.

Responsibilities

  • Provide HR support and advice to managers, employees and workers on policy implementation, employment legislation and best practice.
  • Attend meetings with managers to advise on HR matters and to support implementation of policies and procedures.
  • Advisory on employee relations matters and to manage employee relations processes.
  • Support right-to-work, vetting and barring checks, ensuring documentation and information is supplied to HR in a timely and accurate fashion.
  • Grade jobs using recognised job evaluation systems and advise managers on documentation.
  • Produce and distribute contractual HR information, adding data to HR and Payroll, online recruitment and establishment control systems for approval and change action within service level agreements.
  • Maintain accurate employee and worker data and run reports and manipulate data to support compliance and manager assistance.
  • Feed into development, design and implementation of new and improved HR processes for effective team working and delivery of HR Operations service.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders including schools and other linked services and payroll to ensure effective delivery of the HR Operations service.
  • Provide clear and effective communications to the team and stakeholders to ensure appropriate actions and messages are conveyed effectively.
  • Lead policy development, taking a lead on assigned actions and working with colleagues to develop HR policies and procedures.
  • Oversee rewards and benefits, ensuring effective implementation and processing of a range of rewards and benefits processes and advising managers and employees as applicable.
  • Attend meetings for own areas providing direct advice and support as applicable.
  • Provide training and support for managers on HR policies and processes on a one-to-one or group basis and input into wider training provided by the Organisational Development Unit.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Strong management skills, including ability to manage projects to successful completion.
  • Significant demonstrable experience of successfully working in a full-service HR function providing professional HR advice and operational support independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience of providing a wide range of HR advice for a wide range of managers independently with escalation only where applicable.
  • Experience of identifying and improving policies, procedures and processes and helping with implementation.
  • Experience of working with a range of HR IT systems and applications, including an HR and Payroll system and online recruitment.
  • Experience of working with sensitive and confidential data and a good working knowledge of GDPR requirements.
  • Strong experience of producing and working with management information, manipulating and presenting data appropriately.
  • Experience of helping with implementation of change management processes.
  • Experience of developing, monitoring and ensuring compliance with service level agreements.
  • Minimum CIPD level 3 qualification.
  • Good working knowledge of key employment legislation and its application.
  • Experience of directly using a job evaluation scheme.
  • Strong ability to prioritise effectively and excellent time management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, and close attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines, with good analytical and IT skills.
