Our client is a well-established manufacturing company based in Hornby and is looking for an experienced Storeperson to join their team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong warehouse and inventory experience who enjoys a varied role and takes pride in keeping operations running smoothly. You'll play a key role in managing inwards and outwards goods, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring production has the materials it needs to meet demand.
About the Role
Working within a busy manufacturing environment, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day coordination of warehouse operations, including receiving goods, inventory control, dispatch, and supporting production with timely stock replenishment. This role requires someone who is organised, proactive, and confident working across multiple priorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Unload freight and delivery trucks safely and efficiently.
- Inspect incoming deliveries for damage, defects, or missing items.
- Verify delivered quantities against purchase orders and delivery documentation.
- Organise warehouse shelving and maximise storage space.
- Label and accurately store incoming stock.
- Conduct regular stocktakes and cycle counts to maintain inventory accuracy.
- Reconcile stock movements, including materials returned from production.
- Pick and supply materials to the production team as required.
- Assemble, wrap, and prepare pallets for dispatch.
- Ensure fragile or hazardous goods are packaged appropriately for transport.
- Organise outgoing freight and load trucks efficiently.
- Process dispatch documentation, including delivery dockets, freight paperwork, and invoices.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe warehouse environment.
- Work closely with production and other departments to ensure materials are available when required.
- Identify opportunities to improve warehouse processes and overall efficiency.
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a stores, warehouse, or inwards/outwards goods role.
- Previous experience within a manufacturing environment is highly desirable.
- Experience using MRP or inventory management systems.
- Strong numeracy skills and excellent attention to detail.
- Proven experience with inventory control, stock reconciliation, and cycle counting.
- Ability to prioritise workload and adapt to changing demands.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
- Confident communicator who can collaborate effectively with production and other departments.
