Davin Industries has earned an enviable reputation as an industry leader in precision sheetmetal fabrication and contract batch manufacturing. They now are seeking an experienced and motivated afternoon shift supervisorto join their growing manufacturing team in Christchurch.
This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone with strong production experience who can lead by example, drive productivity, and maintain high-quality standards across the factory floor.
About the Role
As the shift Supervisor, you will oversee daily production operations, coordinate workflow, and support a team within a busy sheet metal fabrication and manufacturing environment. You will play a key role in ensuring production targets, quality standards, and health & safety requirements are consistently achieved.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and support factory staff across daily operations
- Coordinate workflow and production schedules to meet deadlines
- Monitor quality control and ensure work is completed to specification
- Train and mentor staff on processes, machinery, and safety procedures
- Promote and maintain a strong health & safety culture
- Assist with problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives
- Liaise with management regarding production priorities and staffing requirements
- Ensure machinery and equipment are operated safely and efficiently
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or supervisory role
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Experience within sheet metal fabrication or engineering manufacturing is highly regarded
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Good understanding of production processes and workflow management
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
- Reliable, proactive, and able to lead by example
