They are seeking an experienced and motivated day shift supervisor to join their growing manufacturing team in Christchurch. This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone with strong production experience who can lead by example, drive productivity, and maintain high-quality standards across the factory floor.

About the Role

As the shift Supervisor, you will oversee daily production operations, coordinate workflow, and support a team within a busy sheet metal fabrication and manufacturing environment. You will play a key role in ensuring production targets, quality standards, and health & safety requirements are consistently achieved.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support factory staff across daily operations
  • Coordinate workflow and production schedules to meet deadlines
  • Monitor quality control and ensure work is completed to specification
  • Train and mentor staff on processes, machinery, and safety procedures
  • Promote and maintain a strong health & safety culture
  • Assist with problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Liaise with management regarding production priorities and staffing requirements
  • Ensure machinery and equipment are operated safely and efficiently

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or supervisory role
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Experience within sheet metal fabrication or engineering manufacturing is highly regarded
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Good understanding of production processes and workflow management
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Reliable, proactive, and able to lead by example
