Are you an organised logistics professional who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment? We're looking for an experienced Logistics Coordinator to join a well-established Christchurch manufacturer, playing a key role in ensuring products are delivered to customers on time and in full.
Working closely with production, customer service, purchasing, and freight providers, you'll be responsible for coordinating domestic and international shipments while keeping operations running smoothly.
About the Role
This is a varied position where no two days are the same. You'll be responsible for coordinating the movement of goods from production through to customers, ensuring shipping schedules, documentation, and communication are managed efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate domestic and international shipments
- Prepare import and export documentation
- Liaise with freight forwarders and transport providers
- Monitor shipping schedules and delivery timeframes
- Communicate shipment updates, delays, and ETAs with internal teams and customers
- Book and coordinate containers in line with production forecasts
- Process inventory movements through the ERP system
- Work closely with production planning to ensure DIFOT targets are achieved
- Assist with stock counts and provide support to the warehouse team when required
- Identify opportunities to improve logistics processes and efficiencies
We're looking for someone who is proactive, organised, and enjoys working collaboratively across multiple departments.
Ideally you'll have:
- Previous experience in a logistics, shipping, or supply chain coordination role
- Strong knowledge of import and export documentation
- Experience working within a manufacturing environment
- Good understanding of ERP systems and Microsoft Office
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- High attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities
- A customer-focused approach and problem-solving mindset
- Forklift licence (advantageous but not essential)
- Supply chain or logistics qualification (beneficial but not required)
