We are working with a leading provider of FM, Projects and Consultancy services to appoint a Contract Director. You will lead the commercial, contractual, and operational management of a complex Private Finance Initiative (PFI) contract. This is a high-impact role requiring strong leadership, stakeholder management, and a deep understanding of long-term service delivery agreements within a regulated environment.
You will be responsible for ensuring contractual compliance, driving performance improvements, managing risk, and maintaining strong relationships with clients, SPV partners, and service providers.
Key Responsibilities- Provide strategic leadership and day-to-day oversight of the PFI contract lifecycle
- Act as the senior point of contact for the Authority, SPV, FM providers, and key subcontractors
- Ensure full compliance with contractual obligations, KPIs, and service standards
- Lead contract reviews, change control processes, and variation negotiations
- Identify and mitigate commercial, legal, and operational risks
- Drive performance improvement initiatives and ensure value for money outcomes
- Manage governance reporting, audits, and contractual documentation
- Oversee financial performance, budgeting, forecasting, and payment mechanisms
- Support dispute resolution and claims management where required
- Lead and develop a multidisciplinary contract management team

Essential Experience & Skills- Significant experience in a Contract Director / Senior Contract Manager role within a PFI/PPP environment
- Strong knowledge of PFI contract structures, payment mechanisms, and performance regimes
- Proven track record in stakeholder engagement across public and private sector organisations
- Experience managing contractual change, disputes, and commercial negotiations
- Strong financial acumen, including budget management and performance reporting
- Excellent communication, influencing, and leadership skills
