We are working with an innovative, fast paced, high growth privately owned Facilities Management business to appoint an Operations Director to manage and develop their FM delivery function. You will be responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of field engineering teams delivering planned and reactive maintenance services across multiple client accounts UK wide.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Lead the national mobile engineering operation, overseeing service delivery across multiple contracts and regions.
- Develop and implement operational strategies to improve efficiency, service performance, and profitability.
- Ensure the effective deployment and utilisation of engineering resources across client portfolios.
- Provide leadership to regional managers, engineering managers, and field teams.
- Build a high-performing operational culture focused on accountability, safety, and service excellence.
- Support recruitment, development, and succession planning across operational teams.
- Maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
- Ensure service delivery aligns with contractual KPIs and SLAs.
- Support contract mobilisation, renewals, and service improvement initiatives.
- Manage operational budgets and contribute to overall P&L performance.
- Identify opportunities to improve margins through efficiency, process improvement, and resource planning.
- Support business development teams in winning new contracts and expanding existing accounts.
Key Skills & Experience:
- Significant senior leadership experience within mobile engineering, facilities management, technical services, or maintenance operations.
- Proven track record managing large national field engineering teams.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience managing P&L responsibility.
- Experience delivering services within SLA / KPI-driven environments.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working with major corporate or public-sector clients.
