The Resource & Planning Manager is a critical role in enabling effective delivery across the business by ensuring the right resources are available at the right time. Operating within the Change Team, this role serves as a central coordination point across change, tech, data, and business teams, overseeing the triage, prioritisation, and allocation of work. By maintaining visibility of capacity, resolving resource conflicts, and implementing planning tools and governance practices, the role ensures a joined-up and data-driven approach to delivery that maximises impact and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Act as the operational lead for small change management, overseeing the packaging, triage, prioritisation, and working with Delivery lead in IT on resourcing of small change requests, ensuring alignment with business strategy and domain knowledge.
- Serve as the critical interface between change, tech, and data teams, ensuring cohesive delivery, joined-up planning, and transparent communication across stakeholders.
- Continuously monitor the capacity, progress, and blockers to resolve resource conflicts early and proactively remove delivery bottlenecks.
- Lead the implementation of a centralised resource planning model that offers real-time visibility across all demand impacting the teams, driving transparency and control.
- Use data-driven methods to assess and forecast resource demand vs. capacity, identifying constraints, informing hiring or outsourcing needs, and maximising the use of available talent.
- Provide regular reporting and risk escalation into governance forums, promote accountability through accurate tracking.
