When a cyber incident strikes, businesses need someone who can bring calm to chaos, provide reassurance during uncertainty and coordinate a complex response from start to finish. At Canopius, our Cyber Incident Management Team (CIMT) supports organisations through some of their most challenging moments, from ransomware attacks and business email compromise to data breaches and social engineering events.

What you'll be doing:

  • Acting as the first point of contact when policyholders notify us of a cyber incident.
  • Guiding clients through what is often one of the most stressful situations their organisation has faced.
  • Coordinating specialist incident response partners, including forensic investigators, legal advisers, crisis communications experts and other service providers.
  • Managing incidents from initial notification through to resolution, ensuring stakeholders remain informed and supported throughout.
  • Building trusted relationships with clients and communicating clearly, empathetically and confidently under pressure.
  • Working closely with Claims, Underwriting and Cyber colleagues to deliver exceptional customer outcomes.
  • Analysing incident information and outcomes to identify trends, recurring themes and opportunities for improvement.
  • Producing meaningful insights that help enhance customer experience, operational effectiveness and service delivery.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives, helping refine processes, playbooks and best practice across the service.

What we're looking for:

  • Exceptional customer service and relationship management skills.
  • Empathy, resilience and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Strong organisation and project coordination capabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex issues clearly to a range of audiences.
  • Confidence managing multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify trends, interrogate data and generate meaningful insights.
  • An interest in cyber security and technology, with sufficient knowledge to understand and discuss cyber incidents at a high level.
  • A proactive mindset and a passion for continuous improvement.

Experience:

We'd particularly like to hear from candidates with experience in insurance, claims, legal services, cyber security, technology, cyber-adjacent roles, client services or other customer-focused professional environments. Whilst deep technical cyber expertise isn't essential, some exposure to cyber, technology or incident-related work is important, alongside a genuine interest in developing further knowledge in this fast-moving area.

Why Canopius?

You'll join a market-leading cyber insurer and become part of a global team dedicated to helping organisations respond to and recover from cyber incidents. You'll gain exposure to real-world cyber events, work alongside experienced cyber professionals and play a key role in shaping and enhancing the service we provide to our clients.
