We are hiring a UX Designer for Infrastructure and Developer Experience to enhance developer experience globally at Canonical. Our design team aims to transform complex open-source software into efficient, intuitive products that innovate enterprise IT. We seek a talented, technically minded UX designer who shares our vision. This role reports to a design manager or director within the infrastructure and developer experience team. Location: Remote in the EMEA region.
The role entails:
- Building tools for cloud experiences (MAAS, LXD, MicroCloud, Canonical k8s)
- Collaborating with product managers and engineers to shape developer experience
- Supporting complex products with design and UX heuristics
- Developing and promoting design systems for consistency and efficiency
- Understanding interconnected constraints of your work
- Supporting cross-functional efforts within Canonical design
What we are looking for in you:
- Strong academic record from high school and university
- Bachelor’s or equivalent in UX, Design, STEM, or a compelling alternative background
- Passion for user experience, technology, and design
- Commitment to learning and improvement, curious and flexible
- Results-driven with a focus on completing tasks and celebrating successes
- Confidence in user research practices
- Engagement with current design research and innovation
- Willingness to travel internationally twice a year for up to two weeks
