Overview

As a pioneer remote‑first tech company, Canonical attracts a huge number of applicants. Our Talent Science team ensures that hiring decisions are scientifically rigorous, objective, and efficient, regardless of location, culture, or background. You will collaborate closely with Hiring Leads, drive initiatives, automate best practices, and provide expert insights into talent assessments.

Location

Remote position based in the EMEA region.

Responsibilities

  • Drive talent analytics to provide real‑time insights, partnering with the business to accelerate hiring processes.
  • Conduct in‑depth behavioural talent interviews and deliver actionable insights on motivations and behaviours.
  • Build key relationships with global stakeholders to align on hiring agendas and monitor progress.
  • Translate data into robust, decision‑support insights.
  • Consider employer brand and candidate experience impacts.
  • Review and streamline hiring processes and tools for continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with external partners and platforms to maximize ROI.
  • Champion diversity and inclusion, removing unconscious bias from hiring practices.

Qualifications

  • Exceptional academic background: Bachelors or Masters in a psychology‑based subject.
  • Experience in hiring within technology or consulting industries.
  • Highly data‑driven mindset with measurable outcomes.
  • Passion for scientific approaches to talent selection and predictive hiring outcomes.
  • Strong analytical skills: SQL, Python, and/or statistical analysis preferred.
  • Experience with psychometric assessments and behavioural interviewing.
  • High personal organization and self‑drive for effective remote work.
  • Willingness to travel to corporate events 2–4 times a year, up to two weeks each.

  • Headhunting experience, ability to train senior leaders in talent acquisition.
  • Statistical significance testing, Bayesian inference, predictive analytics, or ML.
