This role will be based remotely in the EMEA region. You will be expected to be based in this region.

The product management team are technologists who focus on delivering products and solutions that shape market demands while elevating open source software.
Responsibilities- Lead the lifecycle of the product development by reviewing the priorities and goals for the products you are responsible for.
- Work closely with the engineering leads to oversee the product development process.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as engineering, design, marketing, and sales to address challenges across projects, align on priorities, make informed decisions, and keep business execution on track.
- Conduct market research, analyse industry trends, and gather customer feedback to identify opportunities and ensure alignment with Canonical's overall vision.
- Develop and coach your team through mentoring and training.
- Establish KPIs for project status reporting and communicate them across Canonical.
- Drive execution excellence through continuous feedback and improvement.
- Contribute to the development of strategies to create and maintain high performing teams.
- Contribute to the success of our sales team in winning new opportunities by reviewing customer feedback and participating in customer meetings.
- Seasoned product management experience in technical domains related to the usage and/or the management of open source software in the cloud native landscape.
- Experience designing or managing software operations for large scale distributed systems.
- Good understanding of cloud native technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker containers.
- Comprehensive knowledge of common enterprise security and compliance requirements in software operations.
- Proven ability to lead technical teams and drive their execution to excellence.
- Passion to write about technologies and experience in developer marketing.
- A strong work ethic, and personal interests aligned with the open source philosophy.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Willingness to travel up to 4 times a year for internal events.
- Experience with CNCF projects, identity or observability systems is a plus.
- Demonstrate insatiable intellectual curiosity and be passionate about the future of technology.
- Strong sense of ownership; responsibility for the product's success and the team's success.
- Problem solver with the ability to think creatively and demonstrate visionary leadership.
- Distributed work environment with twice-yearly team sprints in person.
