The Marketing Strategist Specialist plays a pivotal role in shaping and executing Canon’s marketing strategy across Europe for defined customer segments and product/service categories within the consumer market for print and photo. Acting as a subject matter expert, the role is responsible for driving insight-led planning, developing robust marketing strategies, and leading the creation and delivery of master briefs for product launches and lifecycle campaigns. Through cross-functional collaboration, stakeholder engagement, and end-to-end plan ownership, the role ensures that marketing initiatives are aligned with business objectives, deliver measurable impact, and support Canon’s long-term growth and leadership in the market.
Salary up to £56,185 plus 10% bonus (dependant on experience)
Responsibilities- Act as the subject matter expert for assigned customer segments and product/service categories. 80% Print, 20% Photo.
- Define marketing direction, strategy, and objectives in alignment with business goals and the ITCG MTP process.
- Recommend strategic projects and activities for inclusion in the MTP.
- Collaborate with the Marketing Director and Marketing Managers to secure central deployment and implementation plans.
- Monitor performance and adjust plans to reflect market volatility and evolving business needs.
- Lead annual ITCG situation analysis, collaborating with Sales, PM and SMEs.
- Analyse the 5Cs and evaluate past marketing performance.
- Turn insights into strategic, actionable marketing recommendations.
- Develop customer‑ and solution‑centric marketing strategies aligned to business goals.
- Define objectives, KPIs and success measures.
- Provide strategic direction based on market insight, product knowledge and customer needs.
- Own and deliver Product Launch and Campaign/Lifecycle/BAU Master Briefs.
- Plan launch activity, content, assets and compliance requirements.
- Brief SMEs and marketing channels to ensure aligned execution.
- Ensure all briefs are clear, timely and strategically robust.
- Set KPIs and apply learnings from previous activity.
- Oversee end‑to‑end execution of marketing plans.
- Lead virtual cross‑functional teams to drive alignment and delivery.
