As a Learning & Capability Business Partner, you will play a pivotal role in fostering a culture of lifelong learning across our Regional Sales Headquarters (RSHQ), partnering with business leaders, HR stakeholders, and our central Learning & Capability Development team to build the skills and capabilities needed for future success.
You will drive the development of a high-performing workforce by identifying and evolving critical capabilities that support strategic priorities, while translating enterprise-wide people and learning solutions into locally relevant, culturally aligned initiatives. Through strong collaboration and business partnership, you will help create engaging learning experiences that attract, develop, and retain talent, ensuring our people are equipped to thrive in a dynamic and changing environment.
Responsibilities- Strategic Partnership & Capability Alignment: Partner with RSHQ HR, business leaders, and the central Learning & Capability Development team to shape and deliver a learning and capability strategy aligned to EMEA priorities and Canon’s Mid-Term Plan, ensuring enterprise-wide initiatives are translated into relevant and impactful local solutions.
- Act as a trusted advisor to leaders on capability development, performance enablement, and talent growth, supporting succession planning and targeted development opportunities for employees identified through the talent management process.
- Capability Assessment & Workforce Development: Lead capability assessments and gap analyses across RSHQ functions and leadership teams, identifying priority development needs and translating these into strategic learning initiatives that support business objectives and measurable performance outcomes.
- Manage the planning and governance of the RSHQ learning portfolio and budget, ensuring resources are effectively allocated, aligned with business priorities, and optimised through collaboration with central Learning & Capability teams.
- Learning Delivery & Performance Enablement: Partner with EMEA Learning & Capability Development to implement and facilitate high-impact learning solutions across commercial, leadership, talent, and change capability areas, ensuring strong engagement, local relevance, and measurable behaviour change.
- Design and deliver targeted local learning interventions to address capability gaps not covered by central programmes, while fostering a culture of continuous, self-directed learning through the effective use of digital platforms and learning technologies.
- Governance, Operations & Continuous Improvement: Oversee the successful execution of local learning programmes, coordinating stakeholders, communications, logistics, and external learning partners to ensure alignment with Canon standards, governance requirements, and strategic priorities.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of learning initiatives through agreed metrics, stakeholder feedback, and business performance indicators, driving continuous improvement and demonstrating measurable impact on organisational capability and performance.
- Deliver strong adoption and measurable impact of both centrally led and locally developed learning initiatives, evidenced through improvements in learning outcomes, behaviour change, capability growth, and contribution to business performance.
- Achieve high levels of stakeholder satisfaction, effective budget management, increased engagement with digital learning solutions, and consistent compliance with Canon Learning & Capability standards and governance frameworks.
- Strong commercial and business acumen, with the ability to diagnose organisational capability needs and translate them into impactful learning, development, and performance solutions that support strategic priorities and business growth.
- Deep expertise in adult learning, performance consulting, facilitation, and learning design, combined with strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, experience with digital learning platforms and agile approaches, and the ability to use data and insights to measure impact, manage budgets, and drive continuous improvement.
- Proven success in senior Learning & Development, Capability Development, or Talent Development roles within complex, matrixed organisations, partnering with HR and business leaders to identify capability gaps, implement targeted solutions, and deliver measurable performance outcomes.
- Experience designing and facilitating high-impact learning interventions, managing projects, budgets, and external providers, and working effectively across multicultural and virtual environments, with the flexibility to travel regularly between headquarters locations as required.
