Square Circle Clinic is a prominent criminal justice initiative functioning under the aegis of NALSAR University of Law. With operational bases in New Delhi, Pune, Nagpur, and Hyderabad, the Clinic is committed to offering pro bono legal defense for death row inmates and under trial prisoners, while also engaging in significant research in fields such as forensic science, mental health, custodial torture, and legal aid.
About the Internship
The Square Circle Clinic is launching a comprehensive internship programme aimed at offering substantive exposure to the challenges and realities of the Indian criminal justice system. Interns will be engaged on a rolling basis in line with the Clinic’s newly introduced internship policy.
Eligibility Criteria
- The opportunity is open to students currently pursuing undergraduate or postgraduate degrees in law, humanities, social sciences, psychology, psychiatry, or media and communication.
- Preference will be given to applicants from these specified disciplines.
Stipend Structure
- ₹10,000 for full-time engagement (per 4 weeks)
- ₹5,000 for part-time engagement
Internship Duration
- Full-time: 4 to 12 weeks
- Part-time: Minimum of 12 weeks
Location
Internships are available at the Clinic’s offices in New Delhi, Pune, and Nagpur.
