Role Overview

GAIN is hiring a Legal Systems and Administrative Assistant to support its global legal team. This role focuses on managing legal contracts, supporting compliance efforts, and improving administrative processes. It is a full-time position based in either Nairobi, Kenya, or New Delhi, India, and will be offered on a two-year fixed-term contract (subject to funding availability).

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the main point of contact for Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) and assist staff with the CLM system.
  • Support updates and testing of CLM features; liaise with external providers.
  • Coordinate country office calls, take minutes, and ensure regulatory compliance follow-ups.
  • Maintain up-to-date compliance documentation with support from country teams and legal counsel.
  • Assist in preparing documents related to decisions by GAIN's Board of Directors.
  • Help with bank mandate preparations and updating the Legal SharePoint site.
  • Process invoices for legal services.

Eligibility Criteria

  • A degree or diploma in law or a related field.
  • Prior experience handling legal documents and understanding basic contracts.
  • Familiarity with administrative tasks in a legal setting (preferably international development).
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SharePoint.
  • Knowledge of an additional language (e.g., French) is an advantage.
