About the Opportunity
Vidhi’s Tamil Nadu team focuses on addressing pressing legal and policy issues impacting the state. We are currently inviting applications for an internship position based in Chennai for the month of August, with a possibility of continuing in hybrid mode into September depending on project needs. This opportunity is open to students and recent graduates in law, public policy, or related disciplines in the humanities, who are passionate about constitutional research and local culture.

Hybrid (In-person in August; hybrid continuation in September based on requirement)
Roles and Responsibilities
The intern will contribute primarily to a research project that explores Tamil-language literature, folk and cultural expressions, and legal content linked to the Indian Constitution. Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting fieldwork and empirical research within Tamil Nadu
- Identifying and analysing Tamil constitutional materials
- Collaborating with Vidhi Fellows on-ground for research collection
Note: Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking Tamil is mandatory for this role.
Eligibility Criteria
- Current student or recent graduate in law, public policy, or humanities
- Must be physically present in Chennai during August 2025
- Fluent in Tamil (spoken, written, and reading)
- Demonstrated interest in constitutional law
- Prior involvement in legal awareness initiatives or related work is an advantage
Remuneration
Stipend will be provided. Travel expenses, if any, will be reimbursed by Vidhi.
