As a Patent Paralegal at Kria Law, you will play an essential role in overseeing the day-to-day management of client patent portfolios. Your key duties will include:

  • Preparing and filing various types of Indian patent applications, including Provisional, Complete, Convention, and PCT National Phase Entries
  • Drafting and submitting statutory forms such as Form 1, 3, 5, 18, 26, among others
  • Maintaining internal docketing systems and tracking deadlines from the Indian Patent Office (IPO)
  • Conducting online filings and digital submissions via the IPO portal
  • Supporting attorneys during prosecution and post-grant stages
  • Coordinating with clients, inventors, and IPO officials
  • Organizing patent-related documentation and contributing to regular reporting of portfolio updates

This role demands precision, time management, and a client-oriented mindset.

To qualify for this role, candidates should meet the following requirements:

  • 2 to 5 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) in the IP domain
  • Sound understanding of the Indian Patents Act and end-to-end IPO procedures
  • Experience with IPO’s e-filing systems (prior exposure to Iolite will be an added advantage)
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage strict timelines
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills for coordination with clients and officials
  • Prior employment in an IP-focused law firm or consultancy will be viewed favorably
