About the Position

NLSIU is inviting applications for two full-time Research Associate positions under the JusTIS Project. This opportunity is ideal for early-career researchers passionate about socio-legal issues, livelihoods, and urban governance. Selected candidates will engage in field-based research, academic writing, policy analysis, and community engagement. The positions are on-site at Bengaluru, with a monthly salary in the range of ₹60,000 – ₹70,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants must hold a Master’s degree in Social Sciences, Law, Public Policy, Development Studies, or a related field from a recognized institution.
  • Candidates should ideally have 2–3 years of post-master’s research experience in areas such as livelihoods, justice, or urban governance.
  • Early-career researchers awaiting their Ph.D. defense, whose research aligns with the project, are also welcome to apply.
  • Proficiency in Bengali, Hindi, or Kannada is required, along with strong skills in academic writing, public speaking, and independent task execution.
  • Good time management and the ability to work on multiple tasks are essential for success in this role.
