Role Overview
GAIN is hiring a Legal Systems and Administrative Assistant to support its global legal team. This role focuses on managing legal contracts, supporting compliance efforts, and improving administrative processes. It is a full-time position based in either Nairobi, Kenya, or New Delhi, India, and will be offered on a two-year fixed-term contract (subject to funding availability).
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the main point of contact for Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) and assist staff with the CLM system.
- Support updates and testing of CLM features; liaise with external providers.
- Coordinate country office calls, take minutes, and ensure regulatory compliance follow-ups.
- Maintain up-to-date compliance documentation with support from country teams and legal counsel.
- Assist in preparing documents related to decisions by GAIN's Board of Directors.
- Help with bank mandate preparations and updating the Legal SharePoint site.
- Process invoices for legal services.
Eligibility Criteria
- A degree or diploma in law or a related field.
- Prior experience handling legal documents and understanding basic contracts.
- Familiarity with administrative tasks in a legal setting (preferably international development).
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SharePoint.
- Knowledge of an additional language (e.g., French) is an advantage.
