The Role: Legal Oversight in Venture Capital Transactions
This position is dedicated to managing corporate finance legal matters, with a strong focus on transaction-level execution in venture capital and private equity deals. It is not a litigation role. The Legal Associate will take ownership of drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and finalizing key legal documents, including Shareholders’ Agreements (SHAs), Share Subscription Agreements (SSAs), and service-level contracts. The goal is to secure Artha’s investor rights and protections while ensuring that every investment is legally sound and compliant with all regulatory requirements. This is a role for a proactive, detail-oriented lawyer who thrives in a fast-paced investment environment where precision and timeliness directly influence deal success.
Key Responsibilities
- The Legal Associate will manage end-to-end investment agreement processes, ensuring Artha’s commercial and investor rights are protected.
- This includes reviewing, negotiating, and finalizing SHAs, SSAs, and related contracts; working closely with investment teams on legally compliant transaction structures; and liaising with external counsel for complex governance and rights enforcement matters.
- They will also draft and review service-level agreements, vendor contracts, and commercial agreements to minimize legal risk.
- In addition, they will maintain a comprehensive legal tracker, oversee compliance with regulatory obligations, and identify potential legal risks before they arise.
