The Product Owner is responsible for maximising the value delivered by key business platforms and systems within Canon EMEA's operations. Working closely with Business Process Consultants, IT and business stakeholders, the Product Owner translates business needs into actionable user stories, manages the product backlog, and ensures that platform development aligns with strategic goals. This role plays a critical part in enabling scalable, user‑centric and efficient digital solutions that support operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Own and manage the product backlog for assigned platforms, ensuring clarity, prioritisation and alignment with business objectives.
- Collaborate with Business Process Consultants and business stakeholders to gather requirements, define user stories and validate acceptance criteria.
- Act as the primary liaison between business and IT teams, ensuring shared understanding of goals, scope and priorities.
- Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement and daily stand‑ups to support agile delivery practices.
- Ensure platform developments are aligned with Canon's process architecture, compliance standards and data governance principles.
- Monitor platform performance and user feedback to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.
- Support the development and delivery of business cases for new features or enhancements, including impact feasibility assessments and project planning.
- Coordinate testing and validation activities, ensuring solutions meet business needs and quality standards.
- Maintain up‑to‑date documentation of platform capabilities, business designs, workflows, and release notes.
- Collaborate with Learning & Development to ensure training materials are created and updated; support training delivery to drive adoption.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of product management practices and tools within the BPM function.
- Conduct business impact assessments for upcoming releases and system changes, ensuring alignment with operational goals and readiness for adoption.
- Collaborate with compliance teams (e.g., security, data privacy) to ensure governance, traceability, and risk mitigation in platform development.
- Drive business adoption of platform capabilities by promoting value, supporting change management, and ensuring solutions are embedded into operational workflows.
- Act as a key decision‑maker for backlog prioritisation and scope management; manage escalations and evaluate risks and dependencies in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Represent Canon in internal and external platform communities, sharing insights and staying informed on platform evolution and best practices.
- Project manage the delivery of standard & small changes independently or as part of a wider project team for larger initiatives.
Qualifications
- Experience in end‑to‑end systems thinking practices.
- Experience in product ownership, business analysis, or digital transformation roles.
- Strong understanding of agile methodologies and product life‑cycle management.
- Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements and user stories.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Proven experience with one or more enterprise platforms (e.g., Salesforce, SAP, ServiceNow).
- Proven ServiceNow experience; Customer Service Management, IT Service Management, Field Service modules and Self‑service portal capabilities.
- Experience working in cross‑functional, matrixed environments.
Salary
Salary up to £60,849 (dependent on experience) plus 10% annual bonus and a great benefits package.
