Canon UK&I is looking for a Payroll Coordinator to cover a 12-month fixed-term contract for maternity leave. The role supports the Canon Payroll Team in carrying out daily/monthly payroll processing tasks for the Irish payroll, ensuring clear and accurate information is communicated to the business and deadlines are maintained to reduce errors.
Salary
Up to £35,000, dependent on experience.
Responsibilities
- Produce payroll reports for the Payroll Manager to facilitate thorough checking and minimise risk of incorrect data.
- Coordinate with Finance/HR members for reporting at the end of each payroll cycle.
- Initiate payments for new starters, leavers, benefits, allowances, maternity, sickness, salary changes and overtime related to the Irish payroll.
- Collaborate closely with the HR Operations team and HR Business Partners, providing clear communication to support accurate action.
- Assist payroll team with payroll delivery, ensuring accurate tax calculations and preventing under/over taxation.
- Support the Payroll Manager with matters related to PAYE, taxation, P11Ds, HMRC and ROS.
- Run the monthly payroll, confirming all information is correct at the point of payment.
- Engage with the Irish payroll bureau to ensure timely monthly payroll processing.
- Provide compliant information for Canon\’s internal SOX Audit Controls and supply evidence for monthly payments and figures.
- Respond to employee queries and monitor communication platforms to minimise delays.
- Submit Irish pension monthly.
- Prepare the EHECS report quarterly, as required by CSO.
Qualifications
- Experience with Irish payroll desirable (not essential).
- Proven substantial experience in a similar payroll role.
- Strong knowledge of UK and Ireland tax regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and self-motivated.
- Experience with HR systems and payroll software.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- A sense of humour (optional).
