In this role you will be carrying out installation, service and repairs on a range of Canon Commercial Print Ink Jet Printers, as well as pre and post finishing equipment. Ensuring adherence to standard call procedures and maintaining quality standards. Achieving a high first-time fix rate and minimum return rates, focused on customer satisfaction and retention by delivering an exceptional service experience. Responsibilities
- Providing service in first-line troubleshooting (root cause of problems) on Commercial Print ink jet devices, working to strict service level agreements.
- Achieving a high first-time fix rate and minimizing recalls with the most cost-effective use of labour time and parts.
- Communicating effectively to Canon’s customers and across internal Canon departments.
- Contributing to the ongoing development of the team and overall service performance, including assisting/ coaching/ mentoring Service Engineers when required.
- Ensuring all post-sale field service requirements are met, and providing technical escalation support for colleagues when needed.
- Recording all activities correctly in line with company guidelines.
- Optimizing the customer stock inventory and rotation, balancing against return-to-fit visits when applicable.
- Providing customer product instruction and training.
- Advising customers when chargeable work is required and seeking required authorization prior to undertaking such work.
- Identifying opportunities to improve maintenance and repair practices, including modifications in the machine.
- Signaling commercial opportunities to the Sales and Marketing department, preferably via laptop functionality.
- Complying fully with company policies and Health & Safety Guidelines, including product safety checks.
- Pursuing further training for self development and skill enhancement.
- Maintaining a focus on superior customer service and continuous business performance improvement.
- Supporting colleagues as a team player while also being able to work independently without daily guidance.
- Remaining calm under pressure and prioritising tasks and activities effectively.
- Holding an NVQ or equivalent in an electrical and/or mechanical discipline.
- Being a highly organised, proactive, and problem-solving Service Engineer in a production/commercial environment with relevant IT experience.
- Understanding and applying health and safety guidelines.
- Working a shift rotation.
- Holding a full UK driving licence.
