We are a thriving design agency looking for a Graphic Designer to join our growing team. In this role, you'll take ownership of branding and website design projects, working collaboratively with developers, project managers, and clients to deliver high-quality, impactful work.
Who We Are
Based in Blyth (just outside of Newcastle!), Canny Creative builds brands and websites for clients all over the world, from Canada to Japan and the UK. As we continue to grow rapidly, we're looking for a talented designer to help elevate our work to the next level.
Your Responsibilities
- Lead the creation of brand identities and website designs from concept to completion.
- Confidently explain and justify design decisions to clients and internal teams.
- Conduct market and client research to inform design strategy.
- Collaborate with developers to ensure seamless execution of website designs.
- Ensure adherence to brand identity guidelines across projects.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging design trends and technologies.
- Assist in mentoring junior designers and providing constructive feedback on their work.
- Work with the project management team to estimate project timelines and allocate design resources effectively.
- Take ownership of design presentations and documentation for client meetings.
Required Skills
- Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and Figma.
- Strong understanding of design principles, typography, and colour theory.
- Knowledge of UX/UI design, including accessibility best practices and the five elements of UX design.
- Ability to manage time effectively, work independently, and juggle multiple projects.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to confidently discuss design decisions with clients.
- Understanding of brand strategy and how design influences marketing goals.
- Experience conducting competitor research, persona development, and brand messaging alignment.
- Good grasp of print setup, production techniques, and typography trends.
- Experience using AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Google Gemini.
Ideal Skills
- Experience with WordPress, HTML, and CSS.
- Understanding of motion design (After Effects) and AI design tools.
- Ability to sketch and conceptualise ideas quickly.
- Experience working with printers and requesting production quotes.
- Knowledge of user research methods and how they impact design.
