Cannon Fire is looking for an experienced Design Manager to lead sprinkler system design projects from concept to completion. This role is central to ensuring compliance with industry standards, driving technical excellence, and supporting the development of our design team while maintaining the highest levels of quality and safety.
This Design Manager role coordinates across all commercial, technical and delivery aspects of a project. This will range from initial discussions with clients, design development of the project requirements, documentation aspects of setting up the project and management of all project related design activities through to completion. The design manager will support the business with all design related compliance tasks, accreditation reviews and supporting changes of design standards across industry updates.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities- Manages the delivery of all design, technical aspects of projects.
- Oversees the design and compliance process from point of sale to completion.
- Serves as the internal link within the company and will have direct contact with all internal departments, inclusive of subcontract resources in order to facilitate design compliance.
- Initiates the involvement of appropriate departments, maintaining continuous communication with those departments, and ensures the work delivered to customers is of a compliant standard.
- Attends Project Design Meetings at the business or customer site. Leads and represents the business at kick off meetings as required by the customer.
- Leads and facilitates customer teleconferences, visits and audits as required, and provides timely provision of customer reports and updates.
- Interacts with Quality Assurance/Regulatory personnel to drive Problem Reports to closure.
- Responsible for all design related compliance audits both internally and externally and will advise the business of risks associated with non-compliance timely.
- Participates in cross-functional business process improvement activities as required.
- Demonstrates and promotes the company vision.
- The Design Manager will be responsible for the sufficient personal development of all design team members inclusive of industry training and qualifications to ensure the business maintains the sufficient number of employed staff to retain third party accreditations.

Person Specification- More than five years experience within the industry
- Basic Design LPC/BS Qualification
- Strong understanding of all relevant sprinkler standards such as LPC, BS and FM rules/guidance
- Full understanding of health and safety management and lead a strong health and safety culture.
- Comprehensive Industry knowledge
- Strong written and verbal communication / self-motivated
- Creative problem solving
- Personality – Energy, Drive and Enthusiasm
- Flexible with working hours and ability to work away from home when required
