Canned Wine Group elevates experiences where the quality of wine is the priority, offering exciting award-winning single serve wines, driven by grape variety and, most importantly, flavour. We help people discover exciting wines from Europe’s most talented winemakers. Wine, more than any other product, evokes a sense of place and time. Something that connects us all as a team is wine as a conversation starter, a journey of discovery, a new experience to uncover, a new region to explore. Wine is not unique in the challenges it faces from climate change; the impact is already recognisable as harvests are disrupted and wine styles change. As a team we are passionate about contributing towards the long‑term sustainability of the industry across the globe.

Canned Wine Group is the leader in quality‑first single serve wines. We have grown distribution through the biggest names in the UK and have started our journey in exporting to new markets in the EU and further afield. Despite supplying our wines across the UK into leading brands like ATG Entertainment, The National Trust, Harrods, Brentford FC, and many more, London is a relatively untapped opportunity.

As our Business Development Manager – On-Trade in London, you will report directly into our CCO and be responsible for building new business relationships and capitalising on market opportunities. You will be a key team player in the growth of our business and your performance will be based on results, feeding our team’s sales pipeline and converting accounts to close.

About You

You will seek out opportunities to build our business, creating new relationships with prospective customers and growing your network within the wine trade. You will be an enthusiastic conversation starter, have the ability to think on your feet, and represent our brand everywhere you go at the highest level. You will have significant account‑management and sales experience, preferably within the wine industry.

In your role you will need to use your sales playbook to network within the industry and convert leads. You will need to know how to create and improve a sales pipeline, including leading on tenders, and deliver profitable new business agreements. Much of this role will be autonomous and self‑driven in a quick‑pace sales environment. We are looking for someone with a real passion for hospitality, quality experiences, and great wines.

Required

  • Extensive, exemplary experience in a sales or account management role.
  • Field sales, project management and event experience.
  • Deep knowledge of the wine industry, with connections in distribution, and/or a deep knowledge of London’s on‑trade scene.
  • Experience or knowledge of working with catering and large national distributor brands.
  • Passion for wine, food and sustainability.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, especially on the phone and in person.
  • A positive, determined and structured approach to work.
  • Ability to work autonomously and show initiative.
  • Strong sales reporting skills and pipeline management.
  • Willing to travel to our central Bath office when required.

Benefits

You will receive a base salary from £40,000.00 per annum, depending on experience, plus pension contributions. In addition, you will receive a team‑based performance bonus paid quarterly. Unlimited holiday. WSET training and investment in your personal development.
